Welcome to the Virginia Air Show

The Front Royal – Warren County Airport (FRR) is proud to host the 2010 Virginia Air Show on September 11, 2010.  This year’s air show features the renowned Flying Circus, military aircraft, hot air balloons, gyro copter, glider, para-sail, helicopter, barn storming, wing walker, and biplane demonstrations, acrobatics, and flights.  Plus, there are antique auto, aircraft displays, food, and just plain fun.

From the beginning in 2008, the Virginia Air Show has strived to remember 9/11 and to promote aviation.  This year features a rememberance ceremony for United Flight 93 and a host of aircraft, aerobatic displays, hot air balloons and two Army Blackhawk helicopters.  We also endeavor to support our troops and especially our wounded warriors.  This year through the efforts of Tommy Heslep we are broadening our scope to support the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program.

Located in the Shenandoah Valley the airport features picturesque 360 degree mountain views and easy access to nearby Front Royal, route 66, route 81, route 340/522 and many area attractions.  Enjoy hiking, horseback riding, biking, camping, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and other outdoor sports and activities.  Marvel at nature’s beauty from the Skyline drive to numerous caverns and mountain views.  Experience valley wineries or numerous inns and unique restaurants, visit historical sites, or just kick back and relax.

So, whether you fly-in or drive-in, there’s is flight, food, and fun for the whole family!
