The Front Royal – Warren County Airport (FRR) is proud to host the 2012 Virginia Air Show on September 8, 2012. The 2012 air show features the renowned Flying Circus, military aircraft, hot air balloons, gyro copter, glider, para-sail, helicopter, barn storming, wing walker, and biplane performances, multiple acrobatic aircraft performances, and a host of aircraft flights. Plus, there are antique auto, aircraft displays, food, and just plain fun for the whole family. New for 2012 we will have a WWII P-51 Mustang plus military and Air Care helicopters (our newly based air rescue service). Also this year is an expanded Air Show Week, a fun filled week of activities leading up to the Air Show including a USO Show/Dance.
From the beginning in 2008, the Virginia Air Show has tried to remember 9/11, promote aviation. and support our military veterans and those still serving. Through the efforts of Tommy Heslep we are continuing to support the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program. This year through our USO Show/Dance we are supporting our troops by donating half of all ticket proceeds from the dance to the USO.
