The Virginia Air Show marks it's 9th year
August 27th from 10 am - 6 pm
This year combines a barnstorming air show with a car show featuring an anticipated 50 aircraft and over 100 cars
Plus a raffle for all attendees!
This year was a barnstorming wing walking extravaganza (Biplanes to War birds and from Gliders to exotic aircraft) and a car show (from Ford Mustangs to Classic Cars and everything in between) event. Returning this year are the Bealton Flying Circus, Bill Finigin and his Pitts Special, Scott Francis and his MXS, the ever popular Hobby Hangar Radio Controlled aircraft, gliders, gyrocopters, and more. Weather permitting we should even see hot air balloons.
This year will once again feature a FREE kids play area with three devices including a pirate ship, slide, and 4 in 1 moon bounce plus face painting and balloon animals.
We will also have a beer garden at mid field with six varieties of beer to choose from in addition to multiple food, sponsor, and vendors booths. Plus, everyone gets entry into a raffle with multiple prizes.
The Car Show / Cruise-in encourages owners of all makes and models to come including motorcycles. Participants pay $15 at the gate to register the car which also pays for the vehicles occupants’ admission to the Air Show. Car show participants can receive awards for the top 20 in show, best in show, best Mustang, and best motorcycle. Participants will also be eligible to win valuable door prizes provided by local car dealerships and auto parts stores.
Admission is only $5 (children 6 and under are free as is parking). So, whether you are an aviation or car buff or just looking to have a fun day with the whole family, this is the show for you.
From the beginning in 2008, the Virginia Air Show has worked to remember 9/11, promote aviation. and support our military veterans and those still serving. We are also continuing to support the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program and this year the Humane Society of Warren County. Located in the Shenandoah Valley the airport features picturesque 360 degree mountain views and easy access to nearby Front Royal, route 66, route 81, route 340/522 and many area attractions. Enjoy hiking, horseback riding, biking, camping, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and other outdoor sports and activities. Marvel at nature’s beauty from the Skyline drive to numerous caverns and mountain views. Experience valley wineries or numerous inns and unique restaurants, visit historical sites, or just kick back and relax.
Warren County is a Hub-N-Spoke for Luray Caverns, the Shenandoah National Park (Skyline Drive), Washington D.C., sesquicentennial Civil War activities and multiple battlefields including Cedar Creek, New Market, Antietam, and Gettysburg. Event is a must see for seniors, aviation enthusiasts, military, and car buffs, plus lovers of award winning food and wines served in scenic surroundings with fall foliage colors.
